Thank you to all my students for their warm wishes and compliments over the past few days. I am excited to share this moment with you even though I am not physically in the classroom. Thank you for being part of my life journey and making my wedding very special!

I love all the cards that you have created for me and I will treasure them forever!

Keep being awesome and make the world a better place for when I get really, really old! :P

I turn to you another Kid President video for you to enjoy...
Here is the music video I played for you in class that many of you enjoyed....

The Wedding Day

When we announced to our family that we were getting married a little over a month ago around Christmas, they found it odd that we were getting married on a Wednesday. Let me explain the importance of January 27th. Seven years ago Matt and I had our first date January 27, 2009. As one of us is not so great with remembering dates, we decided to keep it simple and get married on the same day as our first date! It just so happened to fall on a Wednesday. So what else do you do on a Wednesday at 3pm? Get married! Duh!?!

The wedding was one to remember. We got married at the Milwaukee County Courthouse in the Small Claims Court. An odd court choice for one to get married. As we were all waiting for our "case" to be called we got an exciting show from the other people who were there defending their case for one reason or another. It was like a mild version of Judge Joe Brown or Judge Judy.

Once our name got called, we went into one of the four judges chambers that branches off from the main courtroom. We all squeezed into the room and stood before our family members to make a life commitment to one another. After repeating after the judge, we both said "I DO!" and we are now officially husband and wife!

The day went smoothly with a lifetime of memories! Thank you to my sister for the beautiful bouquet for me and flower pins for the moms. My mom and mother-in-law for helping with making our wedding so special! I am glad our family members were able to join us on our special day as they have been there for us our whole lives! Especially our parent(s) who were there since day one! :)

A gift from Matt's mom, grandma, and aunt. They set up the appointment for me to have my hair done and make up put on professionally. This would be the second time I have ever had someone make me feel and look pretty!

The hairstyle is one that Kate Middleton had on an evening out for an event.

The Proposal

Matt proposed to me Friday, January 22nd at Klode Park under the cloudy night sky as the waves of broken ice pieces lightly crashed into the snowy shoreline. It is my favorite place to go because of the beautiful view of Lake Michigan. We waked down the hill to where the beach is to look out over the lake and then Matt turned me to face him, he got down on one knee, said his proposal speech, and asked me, "Jeanette Nowak, will you marry me?" I of course said "YES!"

It is aquamarine and meteorite. I don't like diamonds.
