Understanding Differentiated Levels In Unique
• Level 3 Learners – can read text and can participate more independently in the lesson (Independent)
• Level 2 Learners- require pictorial support and require mild to moderate support to participate in the lesson (Supported)
• Level 1 Learners- require extensive supports to participate in the lesson (Participatory).

Measuring Success by the Essential Elements Standards Students who take DLM assessments are instructed and assessed on Essential Elements. Essential Elements are grade-specific expectations about what students with the most significant cognitive disabilities should know and be able to do. The Essential Elements relate to college and career readiness standards for students in the general population.

Reading Resources

To support love of reading, there are so many additional programs used that can help students access text but below are a few of the ones that I personally like to use. Students are encouraged to spend 15-20 minutes daily on one of the additional reading resources for literacy practice and homework assignments.
