Overview of Geometry

Welcome to the Geometry Resource Hub!

This section includes adapted geometry lessons and supports designed for middle school students working on alternate academic achievement standards. All materials are aligned with the Common Core Essential Elements (CCEE) and focus on building foundational skills through hands-on, accessible, and engaging instruction.

Here, you’ll find:

  • Activities and anchor charts to explore shapes, symmetry, angles, area, and perimeter
  • Visual supports and vocabulary aids to increase comprehension
  • Real-world connections to functional geometry skills
  • Resources that support Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and differentiated instruction

These tools are ideal for inclusive classrooms, self-contained settings, or home-based instruction. Feel free to adapt and use what best fits your students’ unique learning needs!

M.EE.6.G.1 Solve real-world and mathematical problems about area using unit squares.

M.EE.6.G.2 Solve real-world and mathematical problems about volume using unit cubes.

M.EE.7.G.1 Match two similar geometric shapes that are proportional in size and have the same orientation.

M.EE.7.G.2 Recognize geometric shapes with given conditions.

M.EE.7.G.4 Determine the perimeter of a rectangle by adding the measures of the sides.

M.EE.7.G.5 Recognize angles that are acute, obtuse, and right.

M.EE.8.G.1 Recognize translations, rotations, and reflections of shapes.

M.EE.8.G.2 Identify shapes that are congruent.

M.EE.8.G.4 Identify similar shapes with and without rotation.

M.EE.8.G.5 Compare any angle to a right angle, and describe the angle as greater than, less than, or congruent to a right angle.

M.EE.8.G.9 Use the formulas for perimeter, area, and volume to solve real-world and mathematical problems (limited to perimeter and area of rectangles and volume of rectangular prisms).
